Books of Kells
The Embassy of Ireland presents The Book of Kells, a symbolic icon of Ireland’s ancient, complex and rich history and culture.
Created more than 1,400 years ago in monasteries in Ireland and Scotland, the illuminated manuscript is adorned with elaborate and ornate imagery and can be viewed in Trinity College Dublin, where it was moved for safe-keeping more than 700 years ago. Ireland's greatest cultural treasure serves as an inspirational symbol of the journey of the Irish people, our resilience, inter-connectedness with our European neighbours and our devotion and contribution to learning".
The two booths will be focused on the Irish community in New Zealand.
